A Fond Farewell To Three Bluebird Legends

Last Friday we got to celebrate the years of service and retirement of Dick Lord, Paddy Donohue & Jan Case. While they will be thoroughly missed, we where so pleased to raise a glass to the fantastic work that they have given to us and the community.

From Left to Right: Lee Gander, Dick Lord, Matt Roberts, Jan Case & Paddy Donohue.

Dick & Paddy have been working for the charity for a combined total of 35 years! By being some of the original drivers for the organisation, they have been around for the development and growth of the charity, transporting members of the community on over 7,000 trips!

Jan Case has been part of the team since 2011, providing 8 years of escorting special need children to and from school. With 464 school trips completed, all the students she’s worked with over this period are sad to see her go, as well are we.

We could not have asked for better staff. They have gone above and beyond their duty of service with their kindness and loyalty. They have helped more individuals than we could ever imagine possible. As true assets to the charity, they will be sorely missed by all. We would like to wish you all the best for the future and thank everyone who turned up to celebrate these Bluebird legends retirement.

East Grinstead Community Meet

CTSussex set up on the 27th of June outside East Grinstead Bus Surgery to speak to our local community.

Attended by Southdown Buses and Metro Bus we got to speak to travelers and local commuters about our service, what we offer and how we operate. Their feedback and support was greatly appreciated and a fantastic way to spread the word of what our charity can offer. Thanks again to all those who chatted with us and came to back us!

Campaign to Challenge the DfT’s Proposed Changes to s19 and s22 Legislation

Important Message to all UK operators of s19 and s22 minibuses

We are a collective of UK Community Transport operators who are greatly concerned
by the implications of DfT’s letter to the sector on 31st July. We feel that the
implications of the letter – if enforced – would have a catastrophic impact on the CT
sector and its ability to provide essential transport to the individuals and communities
that we serve.

CT Sussex Summer Ball

We would like to say thank you to everyone who came along and supported us at our summer ball on 6th July at Effingham Park Hotel! It was a great turn out and an amazing night.

Thank you to Kerrie at Enticing Events for all of your help organising it and sponsoring part of our casino! As well as RDH Commercials for sponsoring part of the casino and Abcom IT Solutions for sponsoring the auction.

The casino from Fun Casino Hire, auction from Fundraising Auctions, raffle and food all went down well and we are really looking forward to planning our big event for next year! Everyone had a great night! For more pictures visit our Facebook page. Our photo booth from F/S event photography went down a treat, and our photographs from our photographer Sjinsane photography turned out amazing!

Initial figures show that we have made about £4,500 on the night, with some items still to come in. So THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who helped us and supported us we really could not have done it without you.

Party in the Park

On Saturday 10th June 2017 CT Sussex was the charity sponsor for Party in the park in Burgess Hill. We had a fantastic day and raised over £450 for our charity! We had guess the name of the Gnome and guess how many sweets were in the jar. We also had some lovely cakes handmade by Megan, our transport assistant at Bluebird depot.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the organisers at Party in the Park 2017 and also to all of the staff members and family/friends that came along to support and help us on the day. We couldn’t have raised so much without you!

Runway and Burgess Hill Radio Station’s

To raise awareness of our Summer Ball which is coming up in July, Sam our apprentice and Matt our CEO, have been guests at some local radio stations.

On the 2nd February they visited Runway radio which is the local station for Crawley. They met with two presenters Lee and Mandi who were extremely welcoming and very enthused about not only the ball, but CT Sussex as a whole. They even took a few pictures with Sam and Matt to remember the occasion! Sam and Matt had a great time and we are all so thankful for the opportunity.

On 17th March they went to see Burgess Hill Radio, where they met with Samantha and Terry to talk about CT Sussex and the ball. Again they were really friendly and interested in everything they were being told. It was a great experience and really helpful to be able to reach the local community in this way.
