How We Got Here

CT Sussex was formed on 1st of October 2016, when Crawley Community Transport, Bluebird Community Partnership and Horsham District Community Transport all merged.

As a charity we cover the Horsham District, Crawley and the Mid Sussex District, including Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and the surrounding villages, which is about a third of the county of West Sussex. We work closely with our friends in other local community transport organisations and are always looking to help them as well.

As a charity we help local people who struggle to access public transport due to age, disability or because there is a lack of safe or adequate public services in their area.

Through our Dial – A – Ride service we are able to help our service users get to the local shops, supermarket, and medical appointments or even to see their friends. In providing this service we are helping prevent social isolation and ensure everyone can access medical help and shop for essentials.

Through our group hire and self-drive bookings we are able to assist local community groups and charities/not for profit organisations take their members out for the day and not incur the burden of owning a minibus and maintaining it. This ensures local groups have money to spend on more essential areas. Most of our groups have found that it is not a minibus they need as such, but transport, and that is what we can provide.

Through our contracts we are able to help disabled children get to and from school on a secure wheelchair accessible minibus. This provides the children with a safe environment and becomes familiar to them as time goes on, but also the parents with the peace of mind that their child is being looked after by trained professionals.

We are currently working on increasing our awareness in the local area, so that we can help more people. We will be updating our event page as more events are planned. So keep an eye on out!
